Career guidance
Until recently, I worked in healthcare, in a nursing home for the elderly with dementia. It was a tough job, because caring for these people is certainly a challenge, but it was all the side tasks that really pushed me to my limit. I reached a point at which I just couldn’t continue any longer. I started looking for a different, fun job with the aid of a career counsellor. After a few tests, it turned out that I had an aptitude for electrical engineering.
From an internship to a fixed contract
After some online searching, I found Trintech’s website and saw that they build horticultural machines in addition to developing electrical systems. That really drew me to the company, because I love growing plants in my spare time. It was an opportunity for me to combine a job with one of my favourite pastimes! I immediately called them and asked them if they would take me as an intern. They agreed and gave me tour at one of their customers, giving me a good idea of the job. I couldn’t have been more impressed by the climate computer. I loved seeing how the customer could control the climate of the entire greenhouse with just one computer! After the short internship, I was offered a job.
At the moment, I mainly work in panel construction and wiring. I can finally enjoy my work again!
